Keeping up the good work

Last night she crawled across the floor — well, it was more like face-scooting, but she’s able to get places now (and is working on less face-intensive ways to move herself). We also discovered that a tooth has surfaced in the bottom front (it’s just a tiny bump so far, so no pictures yet). Keep up the good work, baby!

Straighten up and play right

Penelope’s newest trick (and it does seem magical when she does it) is sitting upright without support!

She’s still working on crawling — she’s able to get places, but it’s more of an accident when she does. Her legs are getting into the right position, but when she pushes off, she ends up moving a little forward, then rolling over on her back!

Dinnertime!

Penelope’s been eating solid foods for a few weeks now. So far she’s had rice cereal, applesauce, and bananas, and loves them all — pears are on the menu for next week. She has quickly learned how to swallow and show that she’s ready for more — that’s shown in the picture. I think sometimes she thinks her tongue is a tractor beam that makes things come to her…

Long tall baby

As of her six-month check-up, Penelope was 15lb 6oz and 27.25in tall, putting her in the 45th percentile in weight and the 92nd percentile in height. By the way, she loves the crinkle paper on the bed in the doctor’s office, and only cried for a few seconds after her shot — then it was back to charming smiles.
